How to mask the username on the MyPC Client and Queue Monitor
To protect user privacy, you can mask the leading or trailing characters of a username on the MyPC Client and the Queue Monitor.
- Log in as a Super Admin or Owner.
- Navigate to:
- Admin -> Organisation -> Advanced Options
- Locate the "Username Masking" options.
- To mask the username on the client banner and Queue Monitor:
- Tick both "Show username on client" and "Enable username masking."
Once enabled, the masking options will appear below.
Configure the masking options
- You can choose to mask the leading characters, trailing characters, or a combination of both.
For example, you can show only the last 3 characters of the username.
- The filler character is used to mask the username. If using MyPC Cloud users (emailaddresses), you can optionally show the domain and mask the username.
Example
- If the username is "john.doe@example.com" and you choose to show the last 3 characters, it will appear as "*****doe@example.com" on the client. In the screens below we show the masking for a username of x1234567890
- If the user joins the queue, the Queue Monitor will display the masked username accordingly.
- If the user was to join the queue the queue monitor would show the following.
